Mohiuddin Ahmad
Prof. Mohiuddin Ahmad is an economist by training, a researcher by profession, a poet by passion and an occasional columnist.
Prof. Ahmad is a founding member (in 1980) and Chairperson (since 1996) of the Community Development Library (CDL), a network of development information and communication in Bangladesh. He is a well-known social communicator and a solidarity activist in the region, having been a Fellow of Asian Regional Exchange for New Alternatives (ARENA) since 1983 and its board member since 2006, co-founder of the South Asia Alliance for Poverty Eradication (SAAPE) in 2001, chair of Jubilee South-Asia Pacific Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD) since 2005 and a co-founder of LDCWatch, a civil society interface of the LDCs.
Prof. Ahmad has so far authored and edited 32 books including six books of poem and two novels. He translated poems of Karl Marx in Bangla, which was published in 1995. Presently he teaches at SungKongHoe University, Seoul, as a visiting professor, where he is a founder Co-Director of the course on MA in Inter-Asia NGO Studies (MAINS). Dr. Tofail Ahmed Ph. D

Professor Tofail Ahmed retired voluntarily from the Department of Public Administration , Chittagong University In September 2007.Besides the teaching in the universities , he also served in various national and international organizations as executives and consultants. Professor Ahmed is one of the well read academic in the field of local governance in Bangladesh. He is the author of about 25 books (Bangla and English) and a large number of articles on politics, administration and development. An academic, activist and organizer, Dr Tofail Ahmed also contributes columns in the newspapers of Bangladesh. He is one of the founder trustees of COAST Trust, contributed as Treasurer and Chairperson for about 8 years and currently sits in the board as member. One of the prominent civil society activists, Dr Ahmed regularly contributes in the debates and discussions on various reform issues.
